Mechanical engineering being one of the oldest branches of engineering and is also known as the ‘mother’ branch of engineering. With great exposure, learning,scope and pay packages, Mechanical engineering is one of the chosen departments by students across the country.

Duration -  4 years

Eligibility 
  • 10+2 Pass (PCM group/PCB- physics,chemistry & maths / biology)
  •  Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Direct 2nd year Entry)
  •  Entrance Exams: JEE (for IIT, NITs, IIITs, CFTIs and SFTIs), BITSAT (for BITS)etc 
  • An examination is also conducted by the Associate Membership of the institute of Engineers (AMIE),which enables working people in the public/private sector and diploma holders to acquire a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering through distance education .The degree awarded is considered to be equivalent to a regular B.E degree.

Average fees -2 lacs to 5 lacs for 4 years - May vary with private autonomous Institutions.



What is Mechanical Engineering is about? 

Mechanical Engineering is a evergreen field owing t
o its relevance and linkage with other branches of  Engineering. It applies the principles of engineering, physics and material science for the design, analysis, manufacturing and maintenance of mechanical systems and productions of many products.


Difference between B.E and B.Tech

Mechanical engineering is offered in both stream as B.E and B,Tech.One of the most commonly asked question by engineering aspirants is the difference between the two degrees. 

B.Tech course is somewhat more practically intensive than the BE course which is more theoretical.The difference  between the two degrees can be understood from their names itself, Engineering Vs. Technology.
