Tips to fill your college application.

Hi guys!

Applying to colleges is not a simple process and it requires more attention and patience. To fill the form correctly, here is the top 10 tips to be follow.

1. Do read college application and instructions carefully and completely. Before you begin filling out a college application, carefully review all instructions.(It has some specifications like, please fill out the form in black ink only and in capital letters).

2. Create a check list of tasks. Your check list could includes photocopies of Mark sheets, Birth certificate,Community Certificate and photograph of yours etc.(see application checklist for details)

3. Start early. Set deadlines for filling out forms a few weeks before they are actually required. Mark these earlier deadlines on your calendar and don’t miss them.(College websites are the best place to find accurate deadline information).

4. Do fill out your own applications. Write the information by yourself to avoid crucial mistakes. Fill out your basic informations accurately.

Note 1.-You want to make sure you write everything down accurately.Include your full name, as written on your birth certificate. Nicknames should not be used. You should include an e-mail address that sounds professional. For example, the e-mail address satishbhaskar@gmail.com is a better choice than satzthemass@hotmail.com

Note 2.-If you have doubt on filling, better make a photocopy of the form and fill it up the required details and make a self review.

5. Listing of Achievements and Extracurriculars. In most college applications, there will be a space to list your achievements and any notable extracurricular activities. Take your time with this space. Make sure you include relevant information that will reflect well on you as a potential student.
Sports, clubs, the arts, formal organizations, and volunteer work are all good extracurriculars to include.
You do not have to limit your list to school-based extracurriculars. For example,if you took Guitar lessons for 8 years from a private tutor, this is also worth mentioning.

6. Be Neat and Organized. The appearance of an application is almost as important in terms of spelling, grammar, with clear information. A sloppy, inaccurate application gives the message that:

    • You don’t care or immature.
    • You don’t respect the application readers.
    • You don’t take seriously the college admissions process.

    7. Please, make copies of your application before you send it off.Photocopy or print each application as whole before you submit it. If you don’t do this, you have no proof that you have completed an application.Because, there are many ways in which an application and its pieces can get lost, so you need to have a copy of whatever you send to a college. Otherwise you might have to do an application all over again. Believe me, that’s not fun.

    8. Do be truthful, and do not exaggerate your accomplishment.

    9. Do make sure that everything that is supposed to be included is enclosed.

10.Review what you submit. Also, it helps to have a friend, teacher, or family member look over your college application before submission to assure that it is neat and complete.

    Don'ts

    1. Don't use correction fluid.
    2. Don't do scribbling or striking.
    3. Don't leave blank spaces. Missing information may cause your application to be sent back or delayed while admission officers wait for complete information.

Hope it will be useful to you,to fill your forms easily.

    Best wishes!
